Yanelba is a Dominican-American SAG-AFTRA actor and model whose screen credits include Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Niña Linda.
Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Yanelba moved to the United States with her family at the age of seven. Her passion for acting began in high school, when a drama teacher recognized her potential and cast her after an impromptu audition. Her expressive performances soon earned her the nickname “The Screamer,” an early indication of the energy and commitment she would bring to her craft.
Although acting captured her heart, Yanelba initially pursued a different path. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo and built a career in investment banking technology. Yet her passion for performing never faded.
In 2010, she decided to follow that passion, pursuing formal acting training and beginning a new chapter in her professional life.
Drawn to both drama and comedy, Yanelba enjoys exploring the full range of human experience—from emotionally complex moments to the humor found in everyday life. She brings her unique perspective, life experiences, and curiosity to each character, embracing opportunities to tell stories that move, entertain, and connect with audiences.
